Gloves
All ZIENER gloves have sewn-in washing instructions that should be followed to ensure that the gloves remain functional for as long as possible.
1. MACHINE WASH (GENTLE CYCLE)
Please note the care symbols in the respective glove model! Gloves with this symbol can be washed on a delicate cycle, e.g. delicate wash or easy-care program, at a temperature of up to 30 °C. Please do not use fabric softener, chlorine bleach or wash-in impregnating agents. Pre-treat heavy stains, soak well, knead only gently and rinse well several times with clear water. Close the Velcro fasteners exactly before washing, as well as loops and zippers. Loosen the elastic bands and remove the inner gloves, if present. It is best to put the gloves in a separate laundry bag for washing. After washing, carefully squeeze out the water from the fingers to the wrist, do not wring! First wrap the gloves in a dry cloth and press lightly to dry them. Then leave to dry lying down.
2. HAND WASH (NO MACHINE)
Please note the care symbols in the respective glove model! Gloves with this symbol can be gently cleaned with a very soft, damp brush or a damp cotton cloth when dirty. The gloves can then be washed briefly by hand in warm water. Please do not use soapy cleaners and squeeze the water carefully from the fingers to the wrist, do not wring! First wrap the gloves in a dry cloth and press lightly to pre-dry them. Then leave to dry lying down. Please do not use fabric softener, chlorine bleach or wash-in impregnating agents. Pre-treat heavy stains, soak well, knead only gently and rinse well several times with clear water.
3. DO NOT WASH
Please observe the care symbols in the respective glove model! Gloves with this symbol can be gently cleaned with a very soft, damp brush or a damp cotton cloth if they become soiled. To do this, please moisten the very soft brush or cotton cloth and carefully rub the soiled areas out of the glove.
4. ADDITIONAL CARE INSTRUCTIONS
The first remedy for dirt, sweat, moisture or similar is to air out the gloves thoroughly and allow them to dry after use. Never dry gloves on or near a heater. Dry gloves can be kneaded softly on the hand to restore them to their original shape. Leather gloves or leather palms can also be sprayed or rubbed with a leather care product. They should also be dried in the fresh air, away from direct heat sources, hairdryers, underfloor heating and tumble dryers. We recommend impregnation after washing with a commercially available impregnating agent. Re-impregnate DWR-impregnated models with a spray or, depending on the care label, refresh the DWR with heat (light ironing). All gloves should only be stored perfectly dry, dust-free and dark.
Clothing
Washing instructions for ZIENER functional clothing with ZIENER Aquashield® & Dermizax®
It is important to wash functional clothing regularly to remove dirt, sweat and grease, but also to maintain the effect of the membrane. The care label should be read before washing, as functional clothing is made of many different materials and correct washing is very important to maintain the product properties.
Fabric softener should never be used as it causes the fibers to swell and destroys the membrane. Powder detergents are also not recommended as they can clog the pores of the membrane. Bleaching and chlorination are also harmful to the textiles. We therefore recommend washing in a standard household washing machine with special detergents for functional clothing. They provide the best care, as the membrane is not damaged by a suitable detergent. The waterproofing is also less affected. It is important to use the detergent sparingly, too much is not an advantage.
1. HOW TO WASH
At 30°C on a gentle or wool wash cycle. Pay attention to a low rotation. Turn the garment inside out and close all zippers and Velcro fasteners. Do not load the washing machine completely full, as this reduces the mechanical load on the materials. If possible, rinse the textiles a second time in the rinse cycle to remove all detergent residues.
2. HOW TO DRY
Allow the garment to dry out a little before putting it in the dryer. You can then either put it in the tumble dryer for 20 minutes (gentle cycle on a low setting) or iron it on the lowest setting without steam. Please note that it is very important to place a towel between the iron and the garment when ironing. The heat during drying or ironing reactivates the impregnation of the materials.
Garments with Freudenberg comfortemp® padding:
Dry garments with the Freudenberg comfortemp® padding in the dryer with a few tennis balls (up to 6 balls).
The use of tennis balls helps to loosen the padding and prevents clumping. Turn the garment inside out and dry it together with the tennis balls in the dryer until it is completely dry. Padding that is not completely dry will clump together. A light tap on the padded areas after drying helps to distribute the filling evenly.
We do not recommend drying the garment on the line. If it has been dried on the line, dry it in the dryer again for at least 30 minutes.
3. HOW TO IMPREGNATE CORRECTLY
Even the best garments need to have their waterproofing renewed after a while. We recommend a spray that is only applied externally, as impregnation in the washing machine can impair breathability. Please always follow the manufacturer's instructions. Afterwards you can dry the garment on a low heat or iron it.
Please note that functional materials are sensitive to aggressive substances from
stain removers or similar products. We therefore recommend that you test the stain remover inside the jacket or, if in doubt, accept the stain rather than destroying the material.
Accessories
All ZIENER accessories have sewn-in washing instructions that should be followed to ensure that the products remain functional for as long as possible.

Hand wash at a maximum water temperature of 40 °C. First dissolve a mild detergent in plenty of water. Allow the textiles to float in the solution and shake them gently. Do not rub, pull or wring out. Then rinse the textiles well, carefully squeeze out the excess water and pull them into shape. Treat colored and delicate items quickly and do not leave them wet.
Bike inner pants & tights
Please note the care symbols in the respective model!
1. MACHINE WASH (GENTLE CYCLE)
Bike inner pants & tights with this symbol can be washed on a delicate cycle, e.g. delicate wash or easy-care program, at a temperature of up to 40 °C. Please do not use fabric softener or chlorine bleach. We recommend using a special sports detergent and, if necessary, a hygiene rinse aid.
It is best to put the bike inner pants & tights in a separate laundry bag for washing.
Please do not tumble dry after washing.

Gloves
Fully padded comfort palm.
The fully padded COMFORT palm features evenly distributed padding across the palm, preventing pressure points. This provides a very comfortable grip. ZIENER gloves equipped with the COMFORT palm are perfect for riding on easy terrain.
Sporty palm with GEL insert.
The combination of different foam and gel pads in the COMFORT PLUS palms absorbs shocks and cushions all unevenness effortlessly. With non-slip silicone prints and ergonomic cuts, these gloves not only offer practical features, but also score points in terms of design.
Extremely soft palm for a comfortable grip.
For all riders who value a comfortable and soft grip, the highly shock-absorbing palms with COMFORT PRO technology were designed. The high-quality, shock-absorbing padding covers a large area and adapts to the individual anatomy of the hand, preventing pressure points. This provides support for the hand exactly where the rider needs it. The additional, very soft palm material with a non-slip surface structure ensures excellent tactility and optimal grip on the handlebars.
Inner pants
Seat cushion with basic foam pad
The Comfort level combines two layers of open-cell foam with different degrees of firmness. This construction ensures balanced cushioning, reduces vibrations and offers a pleasantly stable seating experience, ideal for short to medium distances in everyday use.
Sporty seat cushion with GEL insert.
Comfort Plus enhances the basic system with a perforated gel insert. In combination with open-cell foam, this results in improved pressure distribution and significantly higher shock absorption. Perforations also ensure better ventilation and a more comfortable seating climate, even on longer journeys.
Premium comfort for the highest demands
The Comfort Pro level combines several comfort technologies: perforated foam for optimal ventilation, shock-absorbing memory foam for individual adjustment and a stable base layer. The result is maximum pressure relief, excellent vibration damping and a particularly smooth ride, even on demanding routes.
Ziener Shield System
The ZIENER Shield System is a classification system that highlights the most important function of the product. Each "Shield" uses different functional materials to achieve the desired shield/protection effect. Depending on the area of application, two shield systems can also work together to achieve the desired functional comfort.
The ZIENER Shield System is divided into five functional units. It includes five proprietary ZIENER technologies: WEATHERSHIELD®, WINDSHIELD®, AQUASHIELD®, PROTECTSHIELD® and THERMOSHIELD®. The THERMOSHIELD® technology is in turn divided into three subcategories which, in addition to the extra warm properties, offer further functions and benefits: THERMOSHIELD® PRO, THERMOSHIELD® PLUS and THERMOSHIELD® ACTIVE.
They are supplemented by the GORE-TEX & WINDSTOPPER® by GORE-TEX LABS technologies.
To simplify the selection of the product when purchasing, all ZIENER gloves are supplied with a colour-coded header card (hanger). This identifies the respective functional unit of the gloves.
WEATHERSHIELD® combines reliable weather protection with high breathability and a high level of comfort.
Thanks to water- and wind-repellent materials, ZIENER WEATHERSHIELD® provides good function and good protection, whether it is lightly raining, windy or snowing. It uses materials with a water- and wind-repellent finish (DWR), including, for example, lightweight materials, double-weave fabrics or Stormfleece Pro®. There is no membrane, which makes WEATHERSHIELD® products maximally breathable & moisture-regulating. They also stand out for their extremely high level of comfort, as they are very soft and elastic. Depending on the fabric construction, the products can also be insulating and warming. They can be combined ideally using the layering principle. WEATHERSHIELD® products are perfect for high-movement sports.
The waterproof & windproof Aquashield® membrane ensures a warm & dry climate.
The ZIENER AQUASHIELD® distinguishes those products that are waterproof and windproof thanks to the use of a ZIENER membrane, thus ensuring a warm and dry climate. Their sponge structure ensures that water vapour can pass unhindered through the membrane to the outside and no water droplets can penetrate.
High-quality gloves should be waterproof to protect the hands from moisture and prevent heat loss. This ensures that they are comfortable to wear. Moisture can be caused by rain or snow on the outside or by perspiration on the inside.
The escape of water vapour through the gloves is determined not only by the material composition and resistance to evaporation, but also by the external climate. The permeability varies greatly depending on the body temperature in relation to the outside temperature. Depending on this, the vapour can escape or condense inside the gloves. This effect is completely independent of the material. Due to the low outside temperatures during winter sports, the condensation point is almost always in the glove.
WINDSHIELD® combines reliable wind protection with high breathability for a pleasant body climate.
The windproof, breathable & water-repellent WINDSHIELD® membrane protects the body from cooling down due to the wind chill effect. The cooling effect caused by wind and airflow has an enormous influence on the surface temperature of clothing. Even at low speeds, the temperature feels considerably colder than it really is. This is the so-called wind chill effect. If wind penetrates the fabric, the warming microclimate between skin & clothing is destroyed. The wind should therefore be kept away from the body without affecting breathability.
Extra warm properties ensure a high level of comfort, even under extreme conditions.
The extremities of the body freeze particularly easily, which is why the hands in particular need to be protected from low outside temperatures during winter sports. The decisive factor here is the thermal insulation of the insulating material used on the one hand and the ability to store as many air pockets as possible in the glove to provide protection from the cold and increase breathability on the other. The following applies: the more air can be stored in the gloves, the warmer they are, as air is the best heat insulator. The insulating function is ensured by the outer material and the padding. When buying gloves, you should therefore pay attention to the different insulating properties of the gloves in order to achieve an optimum feeling of warmth when wearing them, depending on the intended use.
ThermoSHIELD ACTIVE: natural wool insulation for balanced climate comfort
ThermoSHIELD ACTIVE combines the heat-insulating properties of the ThermoSHIELD system with high-quality wool padding from lavalan®. The natural wool fibres provide reliable warmth and can retain their insulating properties even when damp. At the same time, wool regulates temperature and is breathable. ThermoSHIELD ACTIVE thus supports a balanced warmth and moisture climate, ideal for changing conditions and different activity levels.
ThermoSHIELD PLUS: high-performance insulation with PrimaLoft®
ThermoSHIELD PLUS is based on the heat-insulating properties of the ThermoSHIELD system and combines them with high-quality PrimaLoft® insulation. The particularly light and soft insulation material stores heat efficiently and provides a pleasant feeling of warmth without adding unnecessary bulk. The insulation retains its heat-storing properties even when damp. At the same time, it is breathable, quick-drying and water-repellent.
ThermoSHIELD PRO: natural down insulation for high thermal performance
ThermoSHIELD PRO combines the heat-insulating properties of the ThermoSHIELD system with high-quality padding made of natural down. The fine down fibres form numerous insulating air pockets and provide high thermal performance at a low weight. Natural down insulation shows its strengths particularly in dry, bitter cold and ensures a pleasantly warm feel, even at very low temperatures.

This category includes sporty and highly functional ski gloves for ski racing and race-oriented skiers who feel comfortable in the forest of poles. Duo component system
